Fiercely independent critics evaluated the Sony STR-DA9000ES receiver using the finest source material and ancillary equipment. With digital sources, digital switching and digital preamplification, it was only a matter of time until the power amplifier also made the move from analog to digital.Even so, some observers were surprised in 2003 when Sony introducedES Series A/V receivers with a digital amplifier we called S-Master Pro. Their response was overwhelming. Sony digital amplifier manual.

Ipod Shuffle 3 Gen

The iPod shuffle 3rd Generation presented a bold, and controversial departure from the previous iPod shuffle 2nd Generation models by removing the straightforward controls from the body of the player and introducing an effectively three button controller -- volume up, volume down, and 'action' (which varies depending on the number and duration of clicks) -- integrated with the earphone cable.
The third generation was the first iPod shuffle to support playlists and also notably introduced 'VoiceOver' which speaks the names of songs, artists and playlists upon pressing the center 'action' button (press and hold for title/artists, press and hold until a tone for the playlists).
The iPod shuffle 3rd Generation uses an even smaller housing than previous iPod shuffle models (a mere 0.38 of an ounce), and are available only in silver or black aluminum -- both with a 'mirrored' finish clip to attach the iPod shuffle 3rd Generation to clothing -- rather than in a selection of vibrant colors like their predecessors.
Both colors of the iPod shuffle 3rd Generation use 4 GB of flash memory supporting 1000 songs and Apple reports an estimated ten hours of battery life.

The Apple iPod shuffle (1st Gen), Apple's lowest cost entrant in the MP3 player market at the time of introduction, features 512 MB or 1.0 GB of flash memory in a small (3.3 by 0.98 by 0.33 inch) case that 'is smaller than a pack of gum' with an integrated USB connector, but without a display.
As the name implies, the iPod shuffle is designed for use in 'shuffle songs' mode and Apple's 'AutoFill' feature within iTunes which selects the correct number of songs to include on the iPod shuffle either as directed by the user or at random. For navigation, the iPod shuffle uses a simple control pad on the front and a 'slider' on the back.
The iPod shuffle is designed to plug directly into a USB 1.1 or USB 2.0 port, but can also be used with an optional dock. It uses 'solid state' Flash Memory, and as a result, cannot skip, and can hold approximately 120 or 240 songs (on the 512 MB and 1.0 GB versions respectively), as well as other file types for transport to another computer.
At the same time, Apple introduced a number of compatible accessories to compliment the provided lanyard, including a waterproof case and an arm band to hold the system during activities.
